Foundation Software Clients Receive Pyramid Awards for Excellence

Five Contractors Recognized for Innovative & Efficient Technology Use

October 19, 2007, Cleveland - For Immediate Release: At the 2007 Foundation Software User’s Conference, held October 17 – 19, in Cleveland Ohio, five contractors from across the U.S. were recognized for meeting everyday business challenges with creative solutions and help from FOUNDATION For Windows construction accounting software.

Copy Cooper Company, of Farmington, New Mexico was awarded the Most Innovative User Award and Belcher Roofing Corporation of Montgomeryville, PA, was awarded the Most Efficient User Award. Three Honorable Mentions went to Vasco Asphalt of Massillon, Ohio, Reitter Stucco of Columbus, Ohio, and C Bar C Construction of Cornville, Arizona.
Cy Cooper Company, a family-based contracting firm specializing in industrial and commercial fire sprinkler design and installation, purchased FOUNDATION in 2006 after an exhaustive search of job cost accounting systems. Since then, the company has improved efficiency and lowered their operating costs by linking and synchronizing design, inventory and accounting data through a self-developed application. Today at Cy Cooper Company, with every new fire sprinkler job design, a detailed parts list is generated, inventory is automatically updated, and all parts are job costed within the FOUNDATION accounting system as materials are pulled from the warehouse. Ireke Cooper, Vice President of Operations, was presented with the top award.

Belcher Roofing Corporation, winner of Foundation Software’s “Most Efficient User Award” recognizes many money-saving efficiencies that come from using a system to the best of its abilities. A FOUNDATION user since 2002, Belcher Roofing has come to rely on the software for all financial management decision-making data. Using multiple job cost reports at weekly project management meetings, as well as detailed over/under billing reports to uncover missed billings, and FOUNDATION’s Purchase(Order/Subcontract module to identify all committed costs, Belcher Roofing has managed to nearly double their revenues over the past five years while reducing overhead expenses. Jodi Rimmer, project administrator, accepted the award on behalf of Belcher Roofing Corporation and Controller Paul Koehler.

Vasco Asphalt Company, a nationally recognized contractor of running tracks and tennis courts, won an Honorable Mention in Foundation Software’s 2007 Most Innovative User Contest for their customized and timesaving innovation at tracking equipment costs. Since 2002, the company has been using the Equipment Module of FOUNDATION to track the daily usage of its equipment and cost usage to each job. Last year, Office Manager Kathy Baker and Job Cost Manager Roxanne Bosh designed a way to track equipment costs – down to the exact amount spent on each for maintenance and repair – without adding another data entry step. Kathy Baker and Roxanne Bosh received the award on behalf of Vasco Asphalt Company.

Reitter Stucco & Supply Company, a labor-intensive stucco and stone installation firm, earned an Honorable Mention in Foundation Software’s Most Innovative User Contest for their ability to measurably improve job costing efficiency in the field. By integrating FOUNDATION job cost accounting system with their employee time-tracking software, Reitter Stucco now has access to next-day job costing data for a more accurate picture on how each job is progressing. Bob Ladue, Controller at Reitter Stucco, was the recipient of this award.

C Bar C Construction, one of Northern Arizona’s largest stucco subcontractors, also earned an Honorable Mention in Foundation Software’s Most Innovative User Contest. Using FOUNDATION to automatically calculate complex piecework pay rates for more than 120 weekly employees, C Bar C operates more efficiently and more cost effectively than ever before. Since switching to Foundation in 2000, the company’s two-person office has grown to six and revenues have increased more than 300%. Rachel Mulcaire, Secretary & Treasurer of C Bar C, was unable to attend the award ceremony.
