Foundation Software Releases New Scheduling Module
Add-On Tool Allows Users to Set Up, Track and Report Project Schedules Using Popular Gantt Chart Technology
May 24, 2007, Cleveland - For Immediate Release: Foundation Software, developer of award-winning FOUNDATION® For Windows® job cost accounting system, has announced the release of new, add-on Scheduling module to their robust construction accounting system. Utilizing the resourceful Gantt Chart structure, the Scheduling module is an essential tool for project managers who need to track tasks by duration, and require the ability to add resources and predecessors, to keep jobs on schedule and on budget.
What makes scheduling unique? According to Foundation Software CEO/Chairman Fred Ode, it’s the combination of simple-to-read Gantt chart technology and FOUNDATION’s powerful reporting capabilities. “Not only does it allow contractors to easily pinpoint the exact status of each project at a glance, but it provides extensive reporting options at their fingertips,” Ode explained.
Through illustrative horizontal bar charts, the FOUNDATION Scheduling module shows the scheduled dates and sequences of tasks for each construction project. It allows contractors to quickly determine the current situation of each job, and then allocate resources to tasks or change assignments, if necessary, to resolve over-or under-allocation.
When adjustments to a project’s schedule is required, users simply click and move the timeline, and the system automatically adjusts each corresponding task for the entire project with the new timeframes. Predecessor relationships can also be assigned to tasks, ensuring that all work is performed and completed within the proper sequence.
Reporting project data is also quick and simple with FOUNDATION’s Scheduling module. Users can select from predefined reporting options, such as Detailed Schedule and Summary Schedule, and all reports can be printed or exported into Adobe® PDF, Microsoft® Work or Microsoft Excel® formats.
The base system of FOUNDATION for Windows includes Job Costing, Payroll, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchase Order/Subcontract, the patent-pending CPA Audit/Review module and the Genie Series of Report, Timecard & Invoice Designers. In addition to the Scheduling Module, contractors can choose from other add-on modules, including Project Management / Document Control, Equipment, Time & Material, Inventory, Fixed Assets, Unit Price Billing, Executive Management, Consolidated General Ledger and ConversionQuick Data Integration.
