Tyler Technologies Continues ASP Growth with $3.3 Million Contract in California

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL - News) announced today it has signed a contract with the City of Richmond, California to provide its financial management software and related professional services, including hosting. This five-year Application Service Provider (ASP) agreement, valued just over $3.3 million, includes a full suite of Tyler’s MUNIS financial and human resource applications.

The ASP model—providing access to software and data over a secure network—is a growing trend among government agencies. Known also as “software as a service,” it leaves the complexities of software administration in the provider’s hands, allowing agencies to redirect information technology resources to other projects. As an ASP, Tyler allows agencies to reduce administration costs and complexity in their operations.

Tyler’s contract with the City of Richmond adds to a series of recent ASP agreements, including a $6.3 million ASP contract with the Fort Worth Independent School District in Texas.

“Tyler has earned a strong reputation as a trusted partner from its clients nationwide,” stated John S. Marr, Jr., president and CEO of Tyler Technologies. “The growing popularity of our ASP solution is indicative of this trust, enabling agencies to focus efforts elsewhere while Tyler manages the hosting and administration of their software. We’re pleased to offer this model to the public sector as another option to help agencies improve service to their constituents.”

The city of Richmond, California is located 16 miles northeast of San Francisco on the shoreline of San Francisco Bay. It is a growing maritime, industrial and residential community, home to more than 103,000.

Based in Dallas, Tyler Technologies is a leading provider of end-to-end information management solutions and services for local governments. Tyler partners with clients to make local government more accessible to the public, more responsive to needs of citizens, and more efficient. Tyler’s client base includes more than 6,000 local government offices throughout all 50 states, Canada, Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom. Tyler has been named one of “America’s 200 Best Small Companies” by Forbes Magazine and one of “America’s 100 Most Trustworthy Companies” by Audit Integrity, an independent research firm.
