Axium Donates to Relief Efforts for Victims of Hurricane Katrina

Beaverton, OR (October 2005) – Axium, a leader in business and financial management solutions for architectural and engineering firms, today announced it is donating maintenance and support contracts to its clients affected by Hurricane Katrina. Providing free support and maintenance for the next year will help clients recover and rebuild their financial and project management systems that are so vital to the success of their business.
“Hurricane Katrina’s destruction to the Gulf states is devastating,” said Cathy Mills, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. “The victims of the storm, including our clients, need not only our support with their businesses they need help with food, water, and medical supplies. We are committed to helping them now and with their rebuilding efforts in the future.”
Axium has clients in both Louisiana and Mississippi that have been affected by Hurricane Katrina. Some firms must relocate their office, compensate for projects that have been stopped or completely destroyed by the storm and work with clients that have also been victims of Katrina. In addition to the great impact Hurricane Katrina has had on the financial viability of the firms, the employees must also recover from the emotional devastation of losing loved ones, pets and/or their home.
In this trying time, Axium employees want to further support their clients and the overall relief efforts to make a difference in this time of need. In addition to providing clients with free maintenance and support, Axium employees are donating unused vacation and sick pay to the relief efforts underway. The IRS has created a special program allowing companies to make a donation in the value of Paid Personal Leave (PPL) hours the employees contribute. Axium will make quarterly designations of PPL hours starting the end of September 2005, through the end of 2006. All of the donations will go to the American Red Cross, Northwest Medical Teams and the March of Dimes.
