THE CHALLENGE Prior to using Journyx Timesheet, Liz Claiborne Inc.'s IS/IT department used only Microsoft Project to manage projects and schedule resources. For accounting purposes, the company needed to track the time these employees spent working on capital versus maintenance projects. In choosing the right solution, Liz Claiborne considered price, ease of implementation, reporting flexibility, and ability to link with Microsoft Project. THE JOURNYX SOLUTION Approximately 200 Liz Claiborne IS/IT employees enter their time on a weekly basis against projects using Journyx Timesheet software. These projects include acquisition integration, new system development, system maintenance, data center operations, desktop roll-outs, systems analysis and design, etc. Liz Claiborne also uses Timesheet to track paid time off, sick time, etc.
By using Journyx Timesheet to track time against projects on an actual basis, Liz Claiborne is able to analyze where employee time is being spent against projects, and accurately report time for capital versus maintenance projects for accounting purposes. Since implementing Journyx Timesheet, Liz Claiborne has better information from a project planning perspective and can now challenge estimates based on actuals for similar projects.
