Geac Signs First U.S. Customer for Innovative Vubis Smart Library Automation System

Harnett County Public Library selects Geac's Vubis Smart as its new Integrated Library Management System

SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Geac® (TSX:GAC, NASDAQ:GEAC), a global enterprise software company for Business Performance Management, announced today that Harnett County Public Library (HCPL) in Lillington, North Carolina (www.harnett.org/library) has purchased Geac's Vubis Smart library automation system. HCPL becomes the first U.S. customer and the second North American customer for Vubis Smart, Geac's innovative, Web-based library management system, which has gained considerable market acceptance in Europe over the past year.

HCPL selected Vubis Smart to replace its ADVANCE system. These multiple databases of varying formats are searchable through a single search interface, which provides relevant links to other local and remote databases, online subscription databases and associated Internet links based on the search performed by the user.
