State of Alaska Purchases Geac Automated Travel And Expense Management System to Reduce Costs

MARKHAM, ON/SOUTHBOROUGH, MA, Sept. 9 /CNW/ - Geac (TSX: GAC, NASDAQ: GEAC) announced today that the State of Alaska has purchased Geac Expense Management in a three-year contract valued at approximately US$ 300,000 including software licenses and support. A new customer to Geac, the State of Alaska is one of the first organizations to purchase Geac Expense Management version 6.5, Geac's newest Web browser-enabled travel and expense reporting system.

The State of Alaska's new travel and expense management system provided by Geac is expected to be deployed to 8,000 users across 15 departments - including the Department of Administration, Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, Department of Revenue and Department of Health and Social Services - to automate the State's previous manual, spreadsheet- and paper- based reporting processes. With broader visibility and more flexible functionality, the State expects to realize savings in costs derived from more efficient administration, more productive use of staff and the ability to negotiate vendor rates and travel discounts. Additionally, the State will be able to better regulate and monitor its travel compliance policies.
