ACCPAC Acknowledged for Product, Channel and Industry Leadership

l Programs and CEO Win Industry Accolades

PLEASANTON, Calif., October 2, 2003 - ACCPAC International, Inc., a subsidiary of Computer Associates International, Inc. (NYSE: CA), announced today that it has been recognized by several prominent computer and accounting industry trade publications for excellence in product quality, channel programs, and overall industry leadership over the past year in three of the company’s focus areas: customer relationship management (CRM), unified messaging, and accounting.

ACCPAC client ACME Truck Line, Inc. of Harvey, LA recently received a "CRM Elite Award" from CRM Magazine for its implementation of the ACCPAC CRM customer relationship management application. Readers of Windows & .NET Magazine chose ACCPAC Messenger and ACCPAC Advantage Series for three of the publication’s "Readers’ Choice" Awards, with ACCPAC Advantage Series winning in two categories. K2 Enterprises, an accounting industry analyst firm, awarded ACCPAC International its 2003 Quality Award for New Technology and VARBusiness magazine gave ACCPAC its highest rating of 5 Stars for the ACCPAC Solution Provider Program. In addition, ACCPAC President and CEO, David M. Hood, has been acknowledged as one of the "Top 100 Most Influential People" in the accounting industry for 2003 by Accounting Today magazine, making this the third consecutive year he’s received the honor.

As stated by CRM Magazine in their September issue, their "CRM Elite Award" recognizes companies for excellence and superior performance in getting return on investment (ROI) results from their CRM initiatives. CRM Magazine judged efforts in six categories, with ACCPAC CRM client ACME Truck Line winning for best mid-market CRM implementation of 2003.

Penton Media’s Windows & .NET Magazine announced in their September 15, 2003 issue that ACCPAC Messenger and ACCPAC Advantage Series were selected winners in three categories of the Windows & .NET Magazine "Readers’ Choice" Awards:

Best Telephony Products, Best Unified Messaging Solution: ACCPAC Messenger;

Best Business Applications, Best Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Software: ACCPAC Advantage Series, and;

Best Business Applications, Best Financial Application: ACCPAC Advantage Series.
Readers were asked to vote on their product preferences in 16 broad technology categories. More than 7,700 readers chose the best among more than 950 products and services.

"We know that peer recommendations are important to our readership," said Dave Bernard, custom media editorial director, Windows & .NET Magazine. "The second annual Windows & .NET Magazine Readers’ Choice Awards were developed as a way for readers to choose and recommend the best technology products in the industry. Receiving this award is an industry seal of approval."

Accounting industry analyst firm K2 Enterprises in September 2003 awarded ACCPAC International their K2 Quality Award for New Technology, citing ACCPAC’s release of ACCPAC Insight enterprise reporting and analysis software, ACCPACcrm.com, an online customer relationship management service, and innovations in providing support for Linux and the IBM DB2 database in ACCPAC Advantage Series and ACCPAC Pro Series accounting software.

Earlier this year, VARBusiness awarded ACCPAC the magazine’s highest rating of 5 Stars in its ninth annual Partner Programs Guide survey. VARBusiness assessed the importance of 16 key vendor partner-program elements, including training, certification and sales leads. ACCPAC was one of only 49 vendors in a field of 300 to receive a 5 Star rating.

Said ACCPAC President and CEO, David M. Hood, "Product excellence is crucial to our continued success, especially in such highly competitive markets as CRM, accounting and unified messaging. Being recognized for delivering excellent channel partnership programs and business applications is very satisfying; however, it’s most gratifying that real customer success with our products is also being recognized. ACCPAC continues to successfully develop and deliver what our channel partners and our customers demand-industry-leading, integrated, end-to-end business management applications that offer real choice, value, and return on investment for their business."

Accounting Today magazine chose Mr. Hood as one of 2003’s "Top 100 Most Influential People" in the accounting industry in their September 22, 2003 issue. The magazine says Mr. Hood "has executed an ambitious strategy to offer small and mid-sized companies a one-stop shop for end-to-end business software applications that is making ACCPAC extremely competitive with much larger rivals."
