New Two-way Sync Between PracticeMaster and Palm OS® Compatible Handhelds December 12, 2002 – Lincoln, NE – Software Technology, Inc. (STI), a leading provider of time billing and practice management software for professional service firms, announced today the release of a new two-way integration for accountants and business professionals using Palm OS compatible handhelds. PracticeMaster’s new Palm integration works with the familiar built-in Address Book, Date Book and To Do List on the Palm OS compatible handheld. This new level of integration between PracticeMaster and the Palm facilitates the synchronization of tasks, events, contacts and clients. “Our new PracticeMaster Palm integration provides a simple one-button synchronization of data,” said Dan Berlin, President of STI. “Data is synchronized both ways at the same time. It also includes a feature not available with most other practice managers; users can add entries on the Palm to the Date Book and To Do List for users other than themselves, and have those entries synchronized to PracticeMaster for the appropriate user. The accountant can choose to synchronize records for a single user, all users or selected users.” Using an advanced Query Wizard, sophisticated filtering capabilities allow accountants to define exactly what information they want synchronized. For example, they can configure to only synchronize dates from the last week through the next two months, or only dates that use specific calendar codes. In addition, the option to synchronize their private PracticeMaster Events, Tasks, Date Book and To Do List records is available. The new PracticeMaster Palm integration also offers greater flexibility for the handling of conflicts caused by editing the same record on both the handheld and in PracticeMaster. The accountant can configure the Palm interface to automatically use the Palm value, the PracticeMaster value or make a copy of both records. PracticeMaster, the emerging leader in practice management software, and TABS III, STI’s award-winning timekeeping, billing and reporting system, are available for Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000 and XP, in both stand-alone and multi-user versions. Both products are also available in client/server editions. PracticeMaster and TABS III each start at only $295. The Palm integration capabilities are provided free as a feature within PracticeMaster.
