CAM Participates in ``eBay Live'' to Unveil New Trading Software

SOURCE: CAM Commerce Solutions Inc.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 2, 2002--CAM Commerce Solutions (Nasdaq:CADA - news) today announced that it will be participating in the first-ever ``eBay Live'' community conference at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif. on June 21st to 23rd.

CAM is one of 35 exhibitors offering seminars and showing its products and services. The event features eBay learning workshops, eBay vendor informational booths, eBay executive staff forums and a keynote speech from eBay's President and CEO Meg Whitman.

CAM will be officially launching its new ``A-Trade'' auction management software at eBay Live. A-Trade is designed specifically for the eBay trading community to provide retailers the first ``total business solution'' option for placing, tracking, managing and fulfilling listings on eBay for retailers and small businesses.

A-Trade combines sophisticated back office inventory management, point-of-sale, accounting and other business management related functions in CAM's Retail ICE and Retail STAR business management software with eBay's trading community. This gives retailers one seamless system for retailing and auction management.

A-Trade accomplishes this by utilizing eBay's API's (``Application Programming Interface'') to communicate directly with eBay. A-Trade was created to allow CAM's 10,000-plus retail customers to take advantage of eBay's powerful selling channel for moving the retailers hard-to-sell merchandise, as well as creating new opportunities to sell regular merchandise.

The A-Trade Software combined with CAM's Retail ICE complete business management software will be offered for free to all eBay sellers and other retailers at eBay Live. Retail ICE is a single-user, single-location retailing system. CAM, also offers a multi-user, multi-location version called Retail STAR.

In addition, CAM will offer seminars on retail management and successful eBay selling strategies for brick-and-mortar retailers during eBay Live. Full day Retail ICE and A-Trade training will also be offered the day before the event and the day after (Thursday, June 20th and Monday the 24th) in the Anaheim area.

To sign up for Retail ICE classes, visit CAM's Web site at www.camcommerce.com or contact the company at 800/866-4443. All class participants will receive the latest version of Retail ICE and A-Trade.

``The vast majority of our customers we have surveyed have no meaningful experience with selling on eBay, and the ones that did told us they needed the process to be integrated with their business system for them to sell on eBay effectively,'' stated Geoff Knapp, CEO of CAM Commerce Solutions.

``Over half said they would definitely try it if it were integrated with their CAM system. As a result we have spent the last 18 months developing a seamless software solution for them that provides this and more. Since any business can obtain our single-user, complete business management system for just the cost of shipping & handling, with complete integrated accounting and with the A-Trade auction management software, even the smallest eBay sellers can gain tremendous benefit from our products by making their businesses more efficient, professional and manageable, allowing them to grow more easily. This opens up an entire new market of eBay sellers as potential customers for us who are not traditional retailers.''

Knapp further stated: ``What most people may not know is that eBay accounted for roughly $9 billion in gross merchandise sales on its trading community in 2001, which is approximately 20% of all consumer e-commerce for that year. eBay sells a motorcycle every 18 minutes and a laptop computer every 30 seconds. There are over 42 million registered users worldwide. eBay is simply the most successful online company addressing a market they estimate at $1.7 trillion.

``There are several nuances to successful trading on eBay for our customers and we plan to provide education on successful eBay selling strategies for our customers along with our software. While we provide the A-Trade software at no charge, there is a small success-based fee for closed auctions, so it is in everyone's best interest that our customers are as successful as they can possibly be with eBay.

``We believe A-Trade will be a strong value-add for our customers opening up a powerful new selling channel for them. Simply put, eBay works, and we are confident that most of our retailers are going to be amazed at the success of this new selling channel and the additional revenue it can create for them once they try it. We are looking forward to participating in 'eBay Live' and the opportunity to launch our 'A-Trade' software and what is sure to be both a successful and fun event.''
