New XML Web Services Empower Managers With Business Analysis Capability
NEW ORLEANS, April 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Made2Manage Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: MTMS - news), a leading provider of comprehensive enterprise business systems for mid-market manufacturers, announced customer response to the new business intelligence (BI) application called Business Analysis has exceeded expectations.
Business Analysis, built with Microsoft .NET and XML Web services technology, is an advanced product that extends the Made2Manage® Business Intelligence (M2M(TM) BI) suite to provide several distinct capabilities. The tool provides online analytical processing (OLAP) information cubes that are hosted and refreshed by Made2Manage Systems and are accessible from anywhere in the world with Microsoft Office XP and a Web browser.
``Our customers are pleased with this hybrid-hosted model,'' said Amelia Sutcliffe Ross, business collaboration product manager for Made2Manage Systems. ``They don't have to handle any of the IT requirements to host the OLAP information cubes, they just use the Internet to link to the application and the application finds their data source automatically.''
The multi-dimensional database structure within the Business Analysis tool makes the cubes available for hierarchical viewing and enables the data to be queried by multiple categories. The categories are based on the needs of the user -- not on a database schema -- to enable data to be viewed in a way that is meaningful to the user. The first three cubes to be released are Demand Sales, Purchase Review and Profit/Loss Review; additional cubes will be announced.
Made2Manage Systems has extended its use of the Microsoft .NET Framework and XML Web services to Business Analysis with this new offering. Already successful within its e-commerce and electronic storefront applications, XML Web services allow Made2Manage Systems to run the various commerce, collaboration and analysis servers for its customers even while the customers run their business applications inside their manufacturing facilities.
``With its latest product, Business Analysis, Made2Manage Systems shows that it provides a valuable solution for manufacturers,'' said Mike Culver, group program manager for the Developer and Platform Evangelism Division at Microsoft Corp. ``Microsoft is excited to be working with Made2Manage Systems to offer their mid-market manufacturing customers a reliable and easy-to-use solution on the Microsoft .NET platform.''
