Sybiz Toasts Sevva's Success
Accounting software pioneer Sybiz Software has appointed experienced IT executive Sevva Nelson as Sales and Marketing Director.
With senior IT company roles since the early 1990s, from sales and marketing to customer service, Ms. Nelson brings a wealth of industry knowledge to a key role for Sybiz.
Ms. Nelson, who started in the computer industry as a programmer studying at RMIT in Melbourne, will exploit her knowledge of the accounting software market as the company aims to extend its national success even further into international markets.
Ms. Nelson, who spent her teens in the New York suburb of Queens before starting work as a travel agent, said the rate of change in the IT industry kept it interesting.
"From the start, I was determined to find out how computers worked, so I took a course at RMIT and became a Cobol programmer," she said.
Ms. Nelson joined Sybiz Software in 1994 as State Manager. In the past seven years, her roles have included sales, marketing and customer service. Previous jobs included State Manager for Profound Computers and Dealer Sales Representative for Exogen Software.
Now the mother of 21-month-old twin sons, Ms. Nelson regards her path to success as a product of her determination to achieve great things. "I am a firm believer in the philosophy, if you work hard and smart, you can get what you want out of life," she said.
With its new executive team in place including Ms. Nelson as Sales and Marketing Director, a new Managing Director and a new National Sales Manager, Sybiz is positioned to take advantage of the global opportunities provided by the Softline Group, the multinational software company that bought Sybiz in 1998.
Software produced by the Softline Group is used by more than 335,000 businesses, encompassing 5.2 million users around the globe. Sybiz Software is an Australian accounting software pioneer that has thousands of clients in this country.
