Open Systems Launches Partner Programs, Names Vice President
Open Systems, Inc., a leading provider of mid-market business software, has introduced a new channel business unit for Value-Added Resellers (VARs), systems integrators, and independent IT consulting firms focused on developing business within the Americas. Additionally, the company promoted Linda Shillingburg as vice president of channel development. Shillingburg has twelve years of experience in business software integration, and has been with Open Systems for six years. “We have two products lines, an array of applications and vertical market solutions that a reseller can present to their clients," said Shillingburg. “Because of the development tools we make available to partners, modifications can easily be done to ensure their clients have exactly what they want and how they want it. Our latest version of TRAVERSE takes advantage of .NET and SQL Server, making this is a great time for partners to rethink their commitment to other products that have less flexibility. Our OSAS product line, now using BBj from BASIS International, has always been open to modification and comes standard with source code.” With the new technologies has come new interest in Open Systems’ partner programs and a higher demand for a number of different types of programs to meet those needs. Shillingburg explained that Open Systems is responding by offering programs for VARS, ISV, OEMs, Consultants, and referrals. “Open Systems is looking for strong reselling partners,” said Shillingburg. “Our goal is to find partners that will fit within our corporate DNA and fill key areas where we don’t have the representation we would like. Our commission structure is high for the industry, and with the .NET platform we are finding many opportunities.” Open Systems has training programs for partners, but no particular certifications are required to engage in the partner program. In addition to the rollout in the Americas programs, the company is also offering partner/distributor programs on a global basis.
