Arrow ECS Launches Preservation, Archiving Repository Bundle for Oracle Hardware Environments
ENGLEWOOD, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions, a business segment of Arrow Electronics Inc. [NYSE: ARW], has created a scalable, integrated solution for Oracle’s Sun environments called the Arrow Scalable Online Archive and Repository (SOAR). Available exclusively through Arrow ECS, the SOAR solution is an out-of-the-box data protection and storage solution deployed on Oracle hardware and software.
The SOAR solution enables companies to archive large files such as records, raw multimedia content, research and other data securely. The repository can be accessed via the web by authorized users to share and reuse information quickly and easily. The web interface can be customized so each company, department or group can have its own “web portal” look and feel.
SOAR has been preconfigured and tested by Arrow ECS for Oracle data center environments. The solution combines industry-leading open-source software for digital repositories with Oracle's server and storage systems; as well as advanced data preservation, management and migration features provided by Oracle Solaris, Oracle’s Sun ZFS Storage Appliance product line, Oracle's MySQL and Oracle’s Sun Storage Archive Manager.
