Arrow ECS Signs Exclusive Agreement To Deliver ‘Butterfly’ AnalysisTool for IBM Resellers

HARROGATE, U.K.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions, a business segment of Arrow Electronics Inc. [NYSE: ARW], has signed an agreement with Backup Migrator Ltd. to provide an analysis and migration tool for backup and recovery for its IBM resellers. Branded “Butterfly” and available exclusively to Arrow ECS’ IBM resellers around the world through Arrow ECS’ United Kingdom office, the new tool is designed to help analyse and consolidate backup and recovery capabilities in complex tape backup environments.

Based on all relevant metadata collected on the customer’s master backup server, the tool produces an analysis engine report (AER) that provides a full detailed analysis of the current backup environment, together with recommendations and cost justifications for the future. Also, Butterfly offers automated data migration functionality, thereby reducing costs, risks and time for the customer and resulting in a seamless transition to a more capable and effective strategic solution. The whole AER process can be completed in less than a week, saving time and precious resources otherwise spent in the development of a long-term backup and archive strategy.
