Arrow ECS Launches Program to Onboard Legacy Sun Resellers to Oracle® PartnerNetwork

 
 
ENGLEWOOD, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Designed to give its resellers a jump start with selling Oracle hardware and software, Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions, a business segment of Arrow Electronics Inc. [NYSE: ARW], launched “Fast Track,” a program for legacy Sun Microsystems resellers. The program assists resellers with enrolling in the Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) and creating a pipeline of opportunities with selling Oracle technology.

“As Oracle moves into their new fiscal year and the integration of Sun resellers into the Oracle Partner Network really starts to accelerate, Arrow ECS wants to help those resellers get a fast start into the OPN program, and more quickly get indoctrinated into Oracle’s channel practices, such as the closing of PRM [Oracle’s opportunity-registration system]-approved Oracle sales opportunities,” said Bill Page, vice president of Arrow ECS’ Sun group. “Arrow’s Fast Track onboarding program for Oracle will help tie together the expertise, opportunities and strategies that Sun resellers will need to effectively sell Oracle hardware and software solutions going forward.”

The Fast Track program for Oracle includes not only step-by step assistance with completing the enrollment process to become Oracle partners and navigating the Oracle Partner Portal, but also customized business-planning services, specialization training, prequalified leads and pre- and post-sales support.

Drawing from its expertise as the 2009 global distributor of the year for Oracle, Arrow ECS consults with legacy Sun resellers, as well as current Oracle software resellers, to provide recommendations on strategies to help ensure that the resellers’ sales, marketing and business development plans align with Oracle’s fiscal year 2011 goals.

Arrow ECS offers no-cost specialization training led by the distributor’s technical sales engineers and other industry experts that can assist resellers with becoming “OPN Specialized” and obtaining specific specializations to sell hardware and software products. Five-day technical training and two-day sales and presales training courses are available on Oracle Database 11g with additional solution areas to follow. Oracle Database 11g specialization is a core requirement for reselling Oracle software and is the first step in becoming an Oracle Exadata-authorized reseller. Classes will be held on site at resellers’ locations and will also be held at various sites around the country. Oracle Database 11g presales and implementation boot camps in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago and New York are available throughout the month of July. Ensuring that resellers can put their specialization skills to use immediately, Arrow ECS will provide resellers with prequalified Oracle hardware and/or software leads in their geography that match their skill set and core competencies. In addition, Arrow ECS offers territory market intelligence reports and customized plans featuring in-depth analyses of information technology spending projections and current infrastructure of resellers’ targeted prospects.

Comprehensive pre- and post-sales support includes customized assistance by Arrow ECS’ Oracle sales and technical team for closing Oracle technology opportunities. For instance, Arrow ECS will participate in sales calls with resellers by acting as an extension of the reseller’s technical team.
