Sage North America Executives To Present on Web Tactics, Moves Management at 2010 CASE District IV Conference
AUSTIN, Texas – March 29, 2010 – Sage North America today announced that Heather Burton, senior marketing manager for the Nonprofit Solutions business unit, and Erin Shy, professional services director for Nonprofit Solutions, will help educate attendees at the 2010 Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District IV Conference, being held through March 30 at the Sheraton Austin Hotel in Austin, Texas. Sage develops accounting and fundraising software products – including Sage Millennium and Sage MIP Fund Accounting – used by thousands of nonprofit and governmental organizations across North America.
Burton will co-present a breakout session titled “The Mystique of Moves Management” with Fayruz M. Benyousef, CFRE, partner with Austin-based Dini Partners, on the morning of March 30. Shy will present a breakout session titled “Web 2.0: Does the Temptation Yield Results?” on the afternoon of March 30. Burton and Benyousef will also co-moderate two roundtable sessions on moves management during the mornings of March 29 and 30.
Burton has been involved in the nonprofit sector for more than a decade. Prior to joining Sage in 2005, she worked in several development roles, including as a development manager for a 40-year-old social service agency, and a loaned executive for United Way. She also led volunteer fundraising teams for a hospice, and sat on corporate giving and workplace campaign committees. She is an active member of the Greater Austin Chapter of AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals), and the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), and currently serves as board president for the BookSpring organization in Austin. Burton frequently presents at industry conferences and is a regular contributor to nonprofit magazines.
Shy has been with Sage since 2002. She previously served in various sales and training management roles within the Nonprofit Solutions business, including director of business development, corporate sales consultant, installed base sales manager, and trainer. Prior to joining Sage, she worked as a consultant in Accenture’s Communications & High Tech Group in Reston, Va., assisting in the implementation of enterprise CRM applications.
Benyousef has guided capital campaigns for nonprofit organizations in such fields as secondary and higher education, human services, health care, and the arts. She has also successfully led numerous strategic planning board development and organizational planning initiatives. Prior to joining Dini Partners, she helped implement a successful $43 million capital campaign at her alma mater, Dickinson College, and served as development director with Ballet Austin. Benyousef is a past president of the Greater Austin Chapter of AFP, and was named “2006 Outstanding Fundraising Professional of the Year” by AFP-Austin. She serves on the board of Planet Cancer, and her survivorship story can be found on the LiveSTRONG Web site.
The 2010 CASE District IV Conference is the regional annual advancement meeting for CASE members in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mexico, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. This year’s conference features presenters on a variety of topics in advancement services, alumni and constituent relations, development, leadership and professional development, marketing communications and institutional relations, publications, and web, plus moderated roundtables.
