Cook Children's signs contract with LawsonDallas Business Journal
Human resource management firm Lawson Software has signed a contract with Cook Children’s Health Care System.
Under the contract, St. Paul-based Lawson (Nasdaq: LWSN) will provide human resource management, supply chain management, strategic sourcing and contract management applications for the Fort Worth-based acute care pediatric hospital system.
Last month, St. Paul-based Lawson Software, acquired Dallas-based Healthvision for $160 million. Both Lawson and Healthvision provided software and services to hospitals and large health care organizations.
The Cook system has greatly expanded in the last decade by adding more than $100 million in new facilities to better serve children in North Texas, Lawson officials said. With the addition of facilities and lines of care, the organization needed a business system that would help it manage supplies, contracts and staff.
“By better integrating our systems and data, we see opportunities to improve business processes and become more nimble as an overall organization,” said Tracy Waller, chief information officer for Cook Children’s Medical Center in a statement. “Access to relevant data is key to improving our efficiency and containing costs.”
The new system will lead to greater efficiency and reduced costs, which are paramount in today’s health care environment, said Jim Catalino, general manager for Lawson Healthcare in a statement.
