Blackline Systems CEO up for Two Entrepenuer of the Year Awards

Ernst & Young, Technology Council of Southern California both recognize extraordinary accomplishments, contributions of financial software provider founder Therese Tucker

Calabasas, Calif. – April 20, 2009 – Therese Tucker, CEO and founder of financial software provider BlackLine Systems, is in the running for two prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, having made it past the qualifying rounds for both the Ernst & Young (E&Y) and Technology Council of Southern California (TCOSC) annual industry awards.

Ms. Tucker has been recognized by Ernst & Young as a 2009 Semi-Finalist for Entrepreneur of the Year in the Greater Los Angeles Region for her accomplishments in building BlackLine from the ground up into a profitable entity – doubling in revenues in each of the past two years. TCOSC has named Tucker one of just three Finalists selected for its 2009 Technology Industry Awards in the Entrepreneur of the Year category, which honors the head/founder of a technology company headquartered in Southern California who has demonstrated exemplary leadership in contributing to the growth of Southern California as a center for technology innovation.

Both E&Y and TCOSC evaluated nominees and their companies based on several selection criteria, such as management style/team building; corporate culture; personal and professional accomplishments; determination, ethics and drive; company profitability and fiscal resourcefulness; and product innovation. They also looked at the individual’s contribution to the local community and how he or she is helping to advance the technology industry in that community.

E&Y Finalists will be named in mid-May, with winners announced in late June. TCOSC is hosting its award dinner and reception on Thursday, April 30, at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel, downtown Los Angeles, where the winners will be announced.
