Arrow Electronics buying two companiesDenver Business Journal
Arrow Electronics Inc. is acquiring a pair of companies that distribute semiconductors in South Korea, China and more broadly throughout Asia, the company announced.
The Melville, New York-based company runs its $12 billion a year electronics components distribution operation from Centennial.
Arrow (NYSE:ARW) has reached deals to buy Excel Tech Inc., the only distributor for semiconductor-maker Broadcom Corp. in South Korea, and to buy Eteq Components Pte Ltd., a distributor for Irvine, Calif.-based Broadcom across China and the Asia-Pacific region.
Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
The purchases will make Arrow the leading Broadcom distributor in Asia, Arrow’s announcement said.
“With these acquisitions, we continue to execute on our strategic priority to pursue opportunities in the more rapidly growing areas of the market” Michael Long, Arrow’s Centennial-based president and COO, said in a statement.
