Oracle buys Tacit Software assets Sacramento Business Journal
Oracle Corp. said Monday it acquired the intellectual property assets of Tacit Software Inc., which focuses on an automated profiling technology for expertise location to help organizations uncover new opportunities for collaboration.
Redwood City-based Oracle (NASDAQ:ORCL), which employs a few hundred people in Rocklin, did not disclose financial or staffing details about the acquisition.
Oracle said it plans to integrate Palo Alto-based Tacit Software into Oracle Beehive, a standards-based enterprise collaboration platform.
Tacit Software is venture backed by firms that include Menlo Park-based Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Redwood City-based Woodside Fund, San Francisco-based Alta Partners, Arlington, Va.-based In-Q-Tel, RBC Technology Ventures, a subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Canada; and Reuters Venture Capital, the in-house venture capital arm of the Reuters Group.
