Tyler Technologies Strengthens Presence in California with Two New Financial Solutions Contracts

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL - News) announced that it has signed agreements to provide Tyler’s EDEN financial management solution to two cities in California—El Monte and Union City. Combined, the contracts are valued at nearly $1.1 million. Both contracts include software licenses, as well as professional services, maintenance and support.

El Monte and Union City each have elected to purchase a comprehensive array of applications from Tyler’s EDEN financial and human resource product suites. El Monte will enhance its use of EDEN Utility Billing through Web extensions, while Union City will employ Web extensions to the EDEN Accounts Payable, EDEN Accounts Receivable, EDEN Applicant Tracking and EDEN Human Resource applications. Both cities will implement Tyler Output Processor and Tyler GASB 34 Reporter.

Jeff Green, president of Tyler’s EDEN Financial Management Solutions points to these most recent contracts as examples of the EDEN solution’s strong standing in California. “Tyler’s EDEN financial management solution is recognized as an exceptional Enterprise Resource Planning solution throughout the state of California, where our presence continues to grow. Tyler’s sole focus on serving the public sector makes us experts in this market and gives clients confidence that we can deliver a feature-rich solution to meet their unique needs,” he stated.

Marcie Medina, deputy city manager for El Monte, commented on the agreement. “The City of El Monte conducted an extensive RFP process for a new financial information system. This process included on-site demos with various vendors. We are very pleased to say that Tyler’s EDEN solution stood out from the rest. Tyler’s extensive experience in the government sector as well as its familiarity with the State of California reporting requirements were top-selling qualities.”

Medina believes the City will benefit significantly from implementing Tyler’s EDEN system. “The EDEN solution is able to provide excellent system functions and support services. The City of El Monte is moving from our outdated financial system to a new system, taking advantage of everything Tyler has to offer in the process. The EDEN system will streamline our financial functions, enabling the City to work more efficiently. We are also very pleased with Tyler’s responsive customer support and team approach. We look forward to the benefits of implementing the EDEN financial management solution that Tyler will provide to El Monte.”

The City of El Monte is located approximately 12 miles from downtown Los Angeles in the heart of the San Gabriel Valley. It is one of the largest cities in Los Angeles County, with a population of 120,000.

Union City looks forward to implementing Tyler’s EDEN financial management solution, according to Rich Digre, director of administrative services. “Union City is excited about the feature-rich capabilities of the EDEN System and is looking forward to seeing improved efficiencies and access to data as a result of implementing the system. We have a small staff that needs to access information quickly and accurately. Our current DOS-based system has not kept up with changing dynamics in governmental accounting. With the EDEN solution, we will be able to use the capabilities of graphical user interface and SQL database queries along with the integration of our Accounting, Business Tax, Budgeting, Building Permit, Payroll, Geographic Information and Human Resource system needs under a single system.”

Digre commented that Tyler’s EDEN solution will enable staff to access information independently. “Our interest is in providing accounting and financial information to departments in a decentralized environment where each department has the tools and capabilities to extract pertinent data or to drill down and find answers to their own questions without the need for Finance staff assistance,” he explained.

Situated in the San Francisco Bay area of Northern California, Union City is home to 73,400 residents. The city covers 18 square miles and is located 30 miles southeast of San Francisco.
