reformatting my hard drive, I had to reinstall my software couldn't find my QuickBooks Pro 5 disk I rushed to the software store to buy a new one to access my files. After seeing the prices, I opted for the Basic 2003 version, figuring that it would probably do everything I needed, since my business is a simple one man affair. And I was right. Everything was fine......except it didn't do estimates....Frustrated, I was pondering what to do and settled on the following.
Click on the "Invoice" button to bring up the Invoice screen.
Click on "customize"
Click on "new"
Change title to "Estimate" then add-change other options to suit.
Use this for estimates.....after printing your "estimate"..click on "Edit" then "Mark invoice as pending". This saves the estimate, but doesn't post it.
After customer accepts your estimate. Click on "Invoice" then "Previous" repeatedly until you locate the estimate. After you have the estimate displayed, click on down arrow under "customize" and choose invoice. Your estimate is now an invoice.
Click edit menu then "Mark invoice as final". Now your incoice will post.....Don't forget to change the dates.
