We are not using serial numbers. Too complicated for us to go that route. Simple weighted-average method for inventory. Just looking for a way to make sure our people cannot steal other people's product. Becomes a real issue when an order is "ship complete" and is waiting on product to arrive. In the meantime, other items on the order are sold and they then need to wait for that product to come back in. Best thought internally is to somehow remove from "view" those items on sales orders so salesmen don't even know they are in stock.
