Sounds like you have damaged data.
You can try running the Data Integrity function : Launch Accpac->Press F3->arrow down to Check Data Integrity->press Enter->select One Start List Item->select the A\R module->press enter and see what shows up.
If errors show up, select the Fix option. This "may" help. If not, you are looking at either a restore to before the problem occurred or sending the data out for repair. There is (or was) a company called Musick International http://www.musick-int.com/ that did data repair on the DOS program.
