How can you suggest that an ACCPAC Plus user convert to Sage ACCPAC without mentioning that they should also check out Adagio (http://www.adagio-by-softrak.com) before making a decision? While you are a continuing source of excellent advice on this forum about an accounting product that has been officially discontinued for 3+ years, and hasn't had a significant change in 12 years, pointing an ACCPAC Plus user at Sage ACCPAC and ignoring Adagio is terrible advice. An ACCPAC Plus user is much more likely to be happy with a move to Adagio, since there's no data conversion for most modules (hence minimal disruption) and only a small learning curve.
And yes, Adagio does offer a soft year end and unlimited history. Better still, it will retrieve all those ACCPAC Plus backup databases everyone made before their year ends so that the multiple years of history are available right away. What's the point of 99 years of history "starting today"?
