The backup feature in OWP is not reliable so the real backup should be done like this:
1. Open Windows Explorer (not internet explorer) Windows key + "E" (the letter E) at the same time or Start - All Progams - Accessories - Windows Explorer (this is under Win XP and Vista. I forgot about Win 98 and ME)
2. Browse to C:\OWPW (if you installed OWP in another location, browse to it) and you must see a folder named DATA. The DATA folder contains all the companies created with their info, entries, blah blah blah.... the whole enchilada. (If you have several companies and you want to backup only a particular company, browse to that company under the DATA folder. You must know the name of those files. Two files were created when you created the company and have the file name ending in .DB and .LOG)
3. Copy the DATA folder (or the two files for a particular company under the DATA folder) and paste it in another location in the same HDD (same HDD is not the best idea), another HDD, USB flash drive, CD, DVD or any storage device you might have. This will be your true backup of everything.
4. To restore, simply copy the DATA folder you created in step 3 and paste it in C:\owpw\ (This will overwrite all the files in the DATA folder you have.) To restore only one company, copy the two files you copied in step 3 for a particular company and paste them in the C:\owpw\data path.
