The 1990's DOS version will not work well with Windows 2003 - you can try and tweak it and get it to work somewhat, but you should consider upgrading to the ACCPAC Windows version - the Dos version is being discontinuued in September 2006 by Sage Accpac -
For your printer question, you can try going into the Accpac System Manager by pressing F3 -> Printer Setup -> Printers and selecting your printer driver and indicating the CPI to be 16 for compressed print
