I have a problem that this newsgroups can help me solve.
I am in the process of converting feom Quick Books to MAS-90, and have some questions as to the preferred method of what amounts to place in Quick Books. This question is further complicated by the fact that you do not close Quick Books so every transaction can be corrected to its original month. This makes for a awful audit trail.
I have two questions that will help me settle an argument, between we and my head bookkeeper.
She believes that the corrections should be made in Quick Books, even to the point of adjusting the prior months, individually. I think its just as proper to make the adjustments in Quick Books and posting the change in the
last month we will be using Quick Books.
As a non-profit corporation, we have been using a class structure in Quick Books, this has been converted to departments in MAS-90. The question is can I just change the class to the proper department when I am recording
the transactions in MAS-90, with out a JE, or changing the trasaction in Quick Books. As an example if I discover the an amount in department One, should be for department Two, can I just change it without correcting Quick Books?
