I am a CPA and a prospective client called me and said they use Great Plains for their accounting. They want to switch to QuickBooks (very odd, but their accounting is very simple and GP is too complex, he said). I would like to see if there is a way of doing this. He said he would like to bring over all details from GP. That includes about five years of data and they'd like to transfer: accounts payable, cash disbursements and vendors; accounts receivable, cash receipts and customers; general journal entries. They process about 250 CD's and 50 CR transactions monthly. Payroll is done by ADP and they don't want to process payroll. Do you know if this can be done? If so, what is the process and the expected cost? Thanks for your feedback Craig Morris
