Peachtree has two method for tracking vacation and sick time. You can assign it in full at the beginning of a year and subtract it as it is used. Basically this is a memo countdown method and you need to know exactly what the time will be at the beginning of a year (not realistic). The other method is to accrue it with each pay. The problem here is that the formula peachtree provides simply divides the vacation accrual (Ex: 2 weeks vac per year) by the number of pay periods in the year and assigns it to the employee each pay. It treats an employee who works a 12 hour week the same as one who works a 40 hour week. Both workers are assigned the same payroll accrual using the peachtree default formula. This isn't realistic or useful. The formula needs to address employee hours worked, not pay periods. Has this been done by anyone. If so, please post on the board or email me with some guidance as to what the field names used in the formula are. I can attempt to write the custom formula's if I knew what the current hourly, overtime, vacation and sick time pay field names are in the peachtree database.
