Green Shades Software, Inc. was originally established as Green Shades Accounting Software, Inc. in 1992 as a Great Plains Accounting reseller. Founded upon Christian morals and ethics in Jacksonville, FL, our company has flourished and grown through the years. In 1996, a first version of our magnetic media software was written and released for only a few clients on a consulting basis. After two original iterations of the product in Microsoft FoxPro and Great Plains Dexterity, Greenshades had grown to be the leading vendor of magnetic media as well as the only independent software vendor offering support for all fifty states and all taxes, including state, federal and over many localities.
In realization of our special niche in the market, along with our continued dedication to our customers, Greenshades reinvented itself in 2002 on the wings of Microsoft’s .NET initiative. Using all that the new development platform from Microsoft had to offer, Greenshades was able to quickly create a new scalable and versatile solution to meet the quickly expanding market of tax reporting needs. Utilizing our years of experience with state and government agencies and our vast knowledge of tax reporting, we created an easy and simple application for reporting tax electronically. This new application, Mag.NET was released in the 3rd quarter of 2002 and won quick approval by our growing customer base.
Greenshades then applied its creation further, by expanding its horizons through business relationships with Microsoft Navision and DataForce Systems. Both corporations approached Greenshades so that they could implement the power and versatility of Mag.NET within their respective payroll packages to offer their clients electronic tax reporting in the middle-tier market with out the use of third-party software. Greenshades continues to foster these relationships as well as breeding new ones as we step ahead as the thought leaders in the electronic tax reporting field.
In the past few years, Greenshades has experienced almost exponential growth through the expansion of its sales for both its third-party product as well as its business relationships. With this growth, we have been developing new products that will add to our effectiveness and exploit our vast knowledge of the electronic tax reporting world. In the future we hope to harbor even closer relationships with state and government agencies so that everyone can prosper from our leadership in the field.

Mag.NET is a certified .NET Connected Application with Microsoft utilizing all of the basic elements of .NET. It has been tried, tested, and has passed the .NET certification test.

This allows us to receive all new and beta software from Microsoft so that we can test and implement our software on the newest available products before they are released, helping us deliver effective solutions to our customers as soon as possible. We also participate in the Microsoft Business Solutions Certified Partner program. Our electronic tax filing program is a registered application with the MBS Partner family.
