Foundation Software Founder Named Best Tech Leader Finalist
CEO/Chairman Fred Ode Recognized by Northeast Ohio Software Association
June 28, 2007, Cleveland - For Immediate Release: Fred Ode, CEO/Chairman and founder of Foundation Software, producer of FOUNDATION® for Windows® job cost accounting system, was named a Best Tech Leader finalist at the first annual Northeast Ohio Software Association (NEOSA) Best of Tech Awards. The ceremony, which was held on Tuesday, May 22 at Corporate College East in Warrensville Heights, OH, recognized a handful of top-performing technology companies in various categories.
NEOSA’s Best Tech Leader Award was created to recognize leaders who have demonstrated growth in their company, vision for the future and positive contributions to the tech industry. For his dedication, commitment and leadership, Ode was selected as one of three award finalists for the Best Tech Leader category. There were six different categories in all.
“I’m flattered to be named a finalist for this award,” Ode said. “When I started out more than 22 years ago, I was a programmer with no idea of what it took to run, let alone grow, a company. Looking at where we stand today, I never dreamed we would be so successful in our industry. However, Foundation Software is still a work in progress and there will always be room for improvement. Maybe that’s what makes business so much fun for me.”
Founded in 1985, Foundation Software has turned a profit every year, with 2006 representing its largest revenue growth year in the company’s history. While many technology companies claim significant growth via acquisitions and product rollups today, Foundation’s growth comes via product and company reputation; new customer acquisition grew 44% in 2006 from the previous year, and 22% of new product sales came from client referrals.
