According to a recent survey there are vast consulting opportunities for CPAs to help businesses implement ERP software. ERP consulting requires an advanced level of business client knowledge which has long been a hallmark of accountants and finance professionals. Therein lies the opportunity for CPAs. Furthermore the following article points out that 14 percent of the small manufacturers surveyed have not yet implemented ERP systems and 31 percent implemented their systems five to 10 years ago. If you multiply these percents times the number of small manufacturing companies...that's a lot of business opportunity.
