Axium's Ajera Wins Excellence Award
Axium’s Ajera Software Wins Excellence Award
Ajera’s Extensive Help System is Highly Recognized by the Society for Technical Communications
January 17, 2005, Beaverton, Oregon — Axium, a leader in business and financial management solutions for architectural, engineering, and project-based firms, today announced that Ajera, in its debut release, has garnered an Excellence Award for its Help System from the Society for Technical Communications. Developed with the end user’s perspective in mind, Ajera is built on the foundation of Microsoft’s .NET and SQL technology, which requires less horsepower and allows users to easily customize tasks, projects and reports. Ajera is a helpful and refreshing solution for growing A/E firms that have been forced to manage their business with expensive, complex systems, or a combination of disconnected office tools.
One of the key advantages of Ajera is its comprehensive Help System that is accessible directly from the dashboard. Ajera’s help system provides easy-to-follow end-user procedures, conceptual information, and context-sensitive window information, including field descriptions. The software further includes a “How Do I” button, which links specific procedures to a window and an extensive glossary.
“…This help system is an effective tool for addressing the user’s needs. The writing is consistently good throughout the topics and the design is pleasing, with a good use of color. The procedures and context-sensitive window information help the users complete their tasks, and glossary entries provide help for understanding underlying concepts. Nice Job!” commented an STC judge.
The Help System provides five different methods to utilize the system; contents, index, window and field help, a glossary, and How Do I help function. The Contents module allows the user to browse through all the topics and easily access the topics that are of interest. The Index lets users quickly locate a specific topic through a keyword search. Window and field help shows descriptions for the window the user is viewing and the Glossary allows users to look up unknown terms. The most helpful option Ajera offers is the “How Do I” function which gives the user specific instructions for the window currently in use. This helpful function, for user convenience, can be accessed right from a button on the dashboard.
“I really like the fact that this help includes system functions such as backup and loading/reloading sample data. It makes it much more comprehensive and self-contained, commented an STC judge. “I also really liked the invoice samples with the graphics and small popup boxes explaining how to achieve that particular look.”
Axium’s vast knowledge and experience in the A/E industry is reflected in Ajera’s help and online topics. The help functions are thorough and organized to be helpful for all users from accountants to project managers to principals.
