The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and InformationActive Inc announce Higher Education Initiative partnership

 
 
(Austin, Texas and Ottawa, Canada) - The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and InformationActive Inc today announced to use InformationActive's flagship product, ActiveData for Excel, as a key part of its Higher Education Initiative.

The ACFE's Higher Education Initiative has been in place for several years in order to promote anti-fraud education in college and university disciplines such as accounting, management, business and criminal justice. The program provides materials to universities and colleges in order to further the establishment of baccalaureate, post-baccalaureate or certificate courses. In June of 2004, the ACFE announced a partnership with InformationActive to resell ActiveData for Excel. The success of this program has spurred the creation of this new arrangement to use this product for training students in universities and colleges in using computer techniques for fraud detection.

Time limited versions of ActiveData for Excel will be made available in support of case studies for the new course materials are being prepared by leading audit software analyst and consultant, Rich Lanza, creator of the highly successful web resource www.auditsoftware.net. Mr. Lanza is the acknowledged expert within the accounting and audit field in Computer Aided Audit Tools (CAATs) and how they can be applied in business situations. The case studies will help students learn the fundamentals of fraud detection using ActiveData for Excel.

According to Mr. Lanza, "I think it's vital to introduce students to CAAT's products at the university level so they can familiarize themselves with industry best practices. Working with the ACFE and InformationActive lets me put these young men and women in touch with the thought leaders in this industry and cutting edge tools in their chosen field."
