Dean Health System Selects CedAr eFinancials

CedAr, the financial and eProcurement solutions provider, today announced that Dean Health System, Inc, a US-based integrated healthcare delivery system, has selected CedAr eFinancials v3.2, a Financial and Materials Management solution. Dean Health System provides medical services, insurance products and ancillary services to patients and other customers throughout Southern Wisconsin. The selection of CedAr eFinancials v3.2 was part of Dean Health System’s overall business plan to replace the existing internal financial systems that no longer met the technology and functional needs of the organisation’s purchasing department and business finance structure.

CedAr eFinancials will enable Dean Health System to establish a fully consolidated business model, capable of supporting each of the varied business entities independently, as well as operationally integrating the entire organisation. In selecting a new system, Dean Health System set forth several criteria to CedAr. These included product functionality requirements, previous experience with companies of a similar size in the same industry and technical requirements such as a web-based solution with full drill down capability, built-in security and flexible reporting.

“CedAr worked alongside Dean Health System’s resources in a very cooperative process, establishing a comprehensive baseline for this implementation,” said Brian Moran, CedAr’s Director of North America Business Development. “Our business experience, combined with Dean Health System’s knowledge of the Health Services industry has allowed for a groundbreaking partnership of our US operations and definition of a solution that incorporates the business needs across Dean Health System’s entities.”

Dean Health System’s eFinancials solution is due to be rolled out in production on 1st January 2005. Following the implementation of the solution, Dean Health System will benefit from improved data integrity, the expansion of EDI, the ability to distribute order entry directly to the user community, reduced overhead, increased accuracy and the ability to consolidate all of its entities within one financial system.
