Axium Introduces Ajera for A/E firms

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Axium announces powerful new business management tool
for growing architectural and engineering firms.

Beaverton, OR June 21, 2004—Axium, a leader in business management solutions for architectural, engineering and other project-based companies, announces the introduction of Ajera, a new product designed specifically to meet the business management needs of small and medium sized firms.

In making the announcement, Alan Mills, Axium Chief Operating Officer said, “Ajera will fill a need for a segment of the market that has been largely underserved. Although project-based firms have very specific accounting, management and reporting needs, they have been forced to design their own systems using a combination of generic small business bookkeeping programs such as QuickBooks, combined with Word and Excel spreadsheets. This has resulted in a lack of accurate and timely project reporting, a great deal of duplicated effort and growing frustration on the part of the principals.”

Ajera has been in development for more than two years, and reflects the input of representatives of many firms who fit the profile of potential users. Built on the foundation of Microsoft’s .NET and SQL technology, Ajera combines the latest ease-of-use innovations with over 20 years of experience servicing the specific needs of architectural, engineering and project-based firms. Powerful and affordable, it allows each user to easily customize tasks, projects and reports to meet their needs. Ajera’s easy-to-deploy .NET solution will also save on costly IT infrastructure and maintenance – which is also an issue for smaller firms.

According to Mills, Axium has become increasingly aware of the critical need for Ajera, while marketing Protrax, their product designed for the larger firm with sophisticated needs requiring a customized solution. He says, “The principals of the smaller firms kept calling to see if we had a similar product for them. We could feel their pain and knew it was time to solve their problem.”

Structural engineer Erik Peterson, who runs a four-person firm that does projects all across the country, has tested the product and says, “There is a level of appreciation I have for the fact that somebody did this. Smaller firms tend to get left in the dust.”
