Made2Manage Systems Announces Management Team Restructuring
INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 14, 2003--Made2Manage Systems Inc., a leading provider of comprehensive enterprise software for small and midsize manufacturers and distributors, today announced the departure of several members of the executive team. Driven by the company's recent acquisition by Battery Ventures VI, L.P., Jeff Tognoni of Battery will replace Dave Wortman as chief executive officer effective immediately. Tom Millay, also of Battery Ventures, will assume the role of vice president, marketing, sales and services.
Wortman leaves Made2Manage Systems after 10 years of service. Under Wortman's leadership, the company has grown from $3.9 million to $30 million in revenue, expanded its user base from 244 to 1,700 customers, and developed a single, DOS-based product into a fully integrated, extended enterprise business system. "We've had terrific accomplishments over the years," said Wortman. "We've brought together a talented and engaged group of people with a strong set of values and an intensive focus on serving our customers' needs. Gary Rush, vice President, sales; Scott Heil, vice president, development; Joe Swern, vice president, services and support; and Sam Amore, vice president, marketing, also left Made2Manage Systems. Traci Dolan, chief financial officer and vice president, finance; and Ray Vallillo, vice president, support and technical services, will remain in their roles.
Over the next 60 days, Tognoni will conduct an aggressive evaluation of the company and institute organizational change strategies that will enable Made2Manage Systems to better serve the business needs of its well-established customer base, continue its ongoing development of the Made2Manage® Enterprise Business System, and optimize sales and marketing efforts for continued success in the marketplace.
Tognoni comes to Made2Manage Systems with more than 20 years of experience in the software industry. In October 2002, he joined the Battery Ventures investment team as an entrepreneur-in-residence, focusing on exploring new opportunities in the software application business. Prior to his tenure at Battery, Tognoni built and led some of the software industry's fastest-growing technology companies.
