Intuit's MRI Clients Ring In New Year with Customized Property Management Applications

Three Companies Receive "2002 MRI Right for My Business Application" Award; New Applications to Meet Unique Business Needs in 2003 and Beyond

CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 6, 2002-- Property managers worldwide who used the MRI(TM) Application Tool Kit in 2002 are ringing in the New Year with new, "Right for My Business" software solutions that better meet the unique needs of their business. MRI Real Estate Solutions has awarded three such clients its "2002 MRI Right for My Business Application" award. The award recognizes innovation and excellence in the development of customized business management solutions.

MRI Real Estate Solutions is one of Intuit Inc.'s (NASDAQ: INTU - News) growing roster of software solutions tailored to meet the needs of specific vertical industries.

Peel Holdings, plc, of the United Kingdom
Tishman Speyer Properties of New York City
Criteria for selection included the uniqueness of the business challenge and its solution, the benefit delivered to the organization and the proficiency in using the MRI Application Tool Kit.

Robson Properties: Streamlined Data Entry

Robson Properties, a commercial real estate owner in Claremont, Oklahoma which also owns and manages livestock, needed to integrate information about cattle with financial data. Thanks to a newly created program developed using the MRI Application Tool Kit, managers now have a complete view for each cattle lot, with cattle head and cattle weights included in the company's financial reports. The application also eliminated the need to enter the same data twice.

Tami Rosson, Robson's systems administrator, created the program after attending a training session sponsored by MRI. "The owner wanted all of his data on one report, and with the Application Tool Kit it was fairly easy to make that happen," she said.

Peel Holdings: Customized Reports and Interface

Peel Holdings was concerned that their property managers were having trouble extracting current and historical data. To address the issue, the firm implemented a system that streamlined recovery/service charge data and included an invoice reference number for each new invoice created. New screen views and reports were added to make viewing the data more user-friendly.

"We now have easy access to recovery/service charge data," explained Philip Doyle, information technology manager at the company. "One of the best results is that we now have all accounts payable invoices scanned and accessible from within the MRI application."

Tishman Speyer Properties: More Efficient Collections Process

The collection of delinquent charges is critical to Tishman Speyer Properties' property managers. However, with the multitude of individual leases managed, many of which include special provisions, that task was easier said than done. Thanks to the MRI Application Tool Kit, the company was able to create a new application to track arrearages with respect to special circumstances.

"We now have a much more efficient collection process," said Larry Schachter, director of information technology. "Today, we're able to create reports that enable property managers to focus on collections instead of software, while also keeping upper management informed of collection activity."
