Clarus Selected to Optimize Fujifilm Division's Direct And Indirect Procurement Needs

ATLANTA, Feb. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Clarus Corporation (Nasdaq: CLRS - news) announced today that Fujifilm Microdisks U.S.A., Inc. has signed a license agreement for Clarus eProcurement to automate and streamline the company's direct as well as indirect procurement needs. Fujifilm Microdisks plans to go live on the solution during the first quarter of 2002.

Fujifilm Microdisks U.S.A., Inc., a subsidiary of Fuji Photo Film Co., LTD, is comprised of a manufacturing and distribution facility located in Bedford, Massachusetts. Originally opened in 1990 the facility is currently heralded as the world's largest producer of DLTtape(TM) IV storage media. On a monthly basis, the plant produces enough computer tape to store 50 billion 400-page books.

Fujifilm Microdisks selected Clarus after a detailed review process which included a number of direct materials procurement solution providers. Ultimately, the Clarus solution was most attractive to the company due to flexible ownership options, rapid deployment capabilities, excellent customer references and best of breed functionality.

Fujifilm Microdisks plans to augment and extend their existing ERP application by integrating it with the Clarus solution. Bi-directional integration between Clarus applications and the Fujifilm Microdisks existing ERP system will be achieved through the use of Clarus' message-based application integration framework that employs Microsoft Biztalk Server and industry standard XML documents.

``To meet the needs associated with the growth of our manufacturing facilities and production, we needed an e-commerce vendor that could quickly and completely address our needs for materials procurement, both from a direct and indirect perspective,'' stated Larry Chiarella, vice president and general manager of Fujifilm Microdisks. ``Our product reviews, in-depth ROI analysis and our discussions with Clarus customers in industries like our own proved the value of Clarus eProcurement.''

``Fujifilm Microdisks is a strategic customer win for Clarus,'' stated Steve Jeffery, president and CEO of Clarus. ``This win shows Clarus' growing strength for clients within the manufacturing segment who require an integrated platform for direct and indirect procurement and showcases the value of a rapidly-deployable, complete procurement solution with fast return on investment and low total cost of ownership.''
