Sybiz Opens New Opportunities

Accounting software pioneer Sybiz has announced broadened product strategy as part of a reorganisation that is aimed to increase its market penetration and focus.
The Adelaide-based company, part of the multinational Softline Group, has reduced staff nationally, consolidating its support operations in Adelaide, Sydney and Perth, as part of a plan to improve profitability and focus, after the most turbulent period in the history of the accounting software industry.
Sybiz Software this month launches Sybiz Vision 2.5, a release that repairs all issues reported by customers, making it the most robust version of the product ever released.
Sybiz is pleased to announce the introduction of a new product, Sybiz Accountmate, January next year. For awhile now, there has been the need for a scalable SQL solution that suits the "upper end" of Sybiz's market. Redeveloped for Australia, the product originates from AccountMate, a Softline subsidiary situated in the USA. AccountMate's business began in the middle 80's and with over 15,000 users, is one of the best known products in its market place today.
Sybiz Accountmate will provide comprehensive financial management systems from medium-sized enterprise to corporate organisations and in an Australian first the software will be supplied with source code.
Softline Group Chief Operating Officer Steve Cohen said the broader range of products opened new opportunities for Sybiz business partners and for customers. "We are aiming to leverage the resources of the Softline group," he said.
"We will continue to develop Sybiz Vision for the small to medium business market and will introduce Sybiz Accountmate for medium to large corporate organisations. This provides new business opportunities for our partners and a seamless growth path for our customers."
Sybiz Software has reduced its staff count by 23 nationally during the past month as a result of the sustained downturn in accounting software sales that followed the introduction of the Goods & Services Tax (GST). The company also saw the departure of recently announced managing director, Tony Lorge, after it was decided to retain the company's head office operations in Adelaide.
In addition to releasing the new version of Sybiz Vision and Sybiz Accountmate, the company intends to provide its Solution Providers with the resources they require to build more profitable revenue streams from supporting Sybiz customers.
Mr. Cohen said Sybiz would deploy web-enabled business systems that allowed its Solution Providers to participate more closely in customer support and service.
"This is really a new start for Sybiz," he said.
"Sybiz has achieved a great deal in the past 26 years, but we feel that the market has changed substantially, so we need to change to meet these new requirements."
"Providing a larger and more stable product range and working closer with our partners and customers are the central elements to making that transition successfully."
Softline is used by more than 335,000 businesses, encompassing 5.2 million users around the globe with operations in Australia, South Africa and the USA. Sybiz Software is an Australian accounting software pioneer that has thousands of clients in this country.
