An accidental upgrade of its accounting software has delivered unforeseen business benefits to an Adelaide company that provides outsourced financial services to not-for-profit organisations.
Although Community Business Bureau undertook the upgrade of its Sybiz Vision accounting software to version 2.5 when the product was still in a beta test phase, the results have proved highly beneficial. Advantages of the new version, now officially released, include lower staff training and support requirements because of its stability.
Community Business Bureau Director of Finance Mr. Andy Redden said his staff had not needed any support from Sybiz over the last month since installing Sybiz Vision 2.5. "According to my staff this version is 99.9 per cent perfect," he said.
"Sybiz Vision 2.5 has eliminated all of the issues we have experienced over the last three years. The system changes with us as we change, ultimately saving us time and money in regard to training and maintenance. It's just not required."
Community Business Bureau, formerly the administration arm of the Spastics Centre of SA, is a self-funded, not-for-profit bureau service that provides outsourced accounting and payroll services for other not-for-profit organisations.
As a result, Community Business Bureau gives Sybiz Vision an 'absolute hammering' by running eight accounting databases simultaneously to meet the needs of its various clients. Sybiz Vision also assists the bureau to work with its large range of clients by the flexibility of the software's Chart of Accounts and report writing functions.
Community Business Bureau, which has used Sybiz Vision for seven years, was so happy with the software's performance that after 12 months of operation, it held a "first birthday party" for Vision. Sybiz sent its staff a birthday cake for the celebration.
That customer contentment has continued with the deployment of Sybiz Vision 2.5, which provides a simple way for businesses to record both traditional accounting transactions and those relating to the rapidly evolving online economy.
Sybiz Software National Sales and Marketing Director Sevva Nelson said Vision 2.5 provided a one-stop shop for companies to integrate their traditional and online business transactions. "Vision reduces accounting costs by making it as simple for businesses to track electronic payments as if they were receiving a cheque," she said.
Sybiz Software, an Australian accounting software pioneer that has thousands of clients in this country, is a fully owned subsidiary of the international Softline Group, which produces software used by more than 335,000 businesses, with
5.2 million users around the globe.
