AccTrak21 Launches Re-Seller Program For U.S. Accounting Professionals

 
 
14 February 2002: Developer of accounting and business intelligence software for the global SME market, AccTrak21, has launched its software re-seller program for U.S. accounting professionals. The Accounting Professionals Partner Program, or AP3 (as well as representing the three Ps in the name of the Program, the “3” or “cubed” symbol also refers to the OLAP analysis cubes contained within AccTrak21 software), is designed to enable broad distribution of AccTrak21 software in the U.S.

AccTrak21 believes its program will be of interest to CPAs and other accounting professionals for a number of reasons, as CEO Tim Loving explained:

“First and foremost, AccTrak21 software provides integrated Business Intelligence tools to enable accounting professionals to better understand the performance of their clients’ businesses, thereby putting them in a better position to offer their clients value-added business mentoring and advice.

“Therefore, in supplying AccTrak21 to a client, the accounting professional is doing more than just supplying superior software: he or she is increasing the client’s profitability, strengthening the firm-client relationship and improving the nature of their accountancy practice”.

AccTrak21’s Business Intelligence tools include Health of My Business, which provides automatic and regular graphical summaries of the client’s business performance, drawn directly from the client’s database. These reports are either sent automatically to the client’s accountant by e-mail, or are viewed via internet browser. The accountant can also access the client’s database and undertake a more detailed analysis of business performance using AccTrak21’s pre-configured OLAP analysis cubes (online analytical processing). This allows the sort of analysis of underlying business performance and trends normally only available with very expensive, high-end systems.

“The other key factor that will interest accounting professionals is our positioning in the market,” added Mr Loving. “Although we are offering high-end features, functionally and scalability, we are pricing our software at comparable levels to Microsoft Great Plains Small Business Manager. In other words, our software is affordable by virtually all SMEs, and is particularly attractive to those businesses frustrated with the limitations of their existing low-end systems.”

The comparison with Small Business Manager is a consistent theme in AccTrak21’s current campaign, running to end June 2002, to give away a free 5 user version of its software to 50,000 U.S. accounting professionals. Indeed, the company goes so far as to include a comparison of its software against the Microsoft product on its website (specifically, at http://www.acctrak21.com/cpa/prod_compare.shtml).

“The logic in our approach is simple,” explained Tim Loving. “Our software is better than Microsoft’s; it has more features, it’s more scalable, it’s built using superior technologies. By giving away free copies to accounting professionals, we’re confident they’ll see the advantages for themselves.”

The company has already started providing details of its re-seller program to accounting professionals and systems integrators who have been impressed by what they’ve seen in the software.

“The feedback we’re getting is tremendous” enthused Mr Loving. “In that sense, Microsoft’s strategy is right – there is a huge, and to date, un-met demand for better accounting software at prices SMEs can afford.”

“All we want is for accounting professionals to try our software and have a look at our re-seller program. Once they do, we’re confident they’ll want to be involved with us”.
