AccTrak21 Offers Free, Award-Winning, Multi-User Software to US CPAs

18 December 2001: Developer of accounting and business intelligence software for the global SME market, AccTrak21, has launched a campaign to raise awareness of the strength of its software by offering to give away free 50,000 copies of its award-winning, multi-user software to US CPAs.

The give-away version is not a demo, or an out-of-date or cut down product, but a fully functioning client-server accounting system for up to 5 concurrent users and 5 companies, ready to provide a real business with multi-user, online, real-time accounting and business intelligence. It is Windows-based, has hyperlinked online help, and includes integrated OLAP business intelligence tools. The software retails in the US for $6,160.

The AccTrak21 give-away comes just weeks after Microsoft Great Plains has begun selling its Small Business Manager software, aimed at users who are outgrowing Intuit’s QuickBooks. The timing is not coincidental, as AccTrak21 founder and Managing Director, Tim Loving, explained:

“We have long recognized the demand by SMEs for software that takes them beyond QuickBooks, but at a price they could afford. So we agree entirely with Microsoft’s approach of targeting that market with their new product. However, although our prices are similar, when we compare ourselves to Microsoft Great Plains, there are two major differences:

2. They are a household name, with a huge advertising spend and an extensive distribution network.”

“Hence, the give-away to CPAs!” he added.

This allows the sort of analysis of underlying business performance normally only available with very expensive, high-end systems.”
