5,000-Employee Company Manages Complex, Decentralized Payroll with Ultimate Software’s UltiPro

An Ultimate Software customer since 2009, RDI was using a mainframe system for its HR and payroll prior to UltiPro. After a merger pushed its employee population from 3,500 to nearly 5,000 employees, HR leadership realized the company had to elevate its processes for human capital management (HCM). With more than a dozen locations — each with its own payroll processing requirements, including the freedom to create unique compensation packages and payroll rules — RDI needed a very robust, flexible solution to handle its business complexities.

Rather than relying on locations to submit data that then had to be manually compiled, was not current, or could have errors, the team can instantly access correct, real-time analytics with UltiPro.
Another source of improved accuracy and efficiency for RDI is UltiPro’s feature for benefits open enrollment. Employees can make changes to their benefits during open enrollment, which are then quickly transmitted to benefits providers without manual data entry. With more than 70% of its population speaking other languages, the RDI team also appreciates UltiPro’s ease of use. Because UltiPro can easily integrate with other applications or service providers, RDI has automated the transfer of benefits information to and from providers.
