Denver Public Schools Selects Lawson Talent Management Suite to Help Enhance Teacher Effectiveness


Colorado's second largest school district uses technology to help focus on an ultimate goal – student outcomes
 
 
ST. PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Lawson Software (Nasdaq:LWSN - News) today announced that Denver Public Schools (DPS) in Denver, Colo., has selected Lawson for a multi-application purchase of the Lawson Talent Management suite. The purchase includes Global Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Compensation Management, and Performance Management. Lawson Talent Management adds to DPS’s existing human resource management solutions. The district has been using Lawson to help manage HR and payroll since 1999. The contract to add Lawson Talent Management was signed during the second quarter of Lawson's 2011 fiscal year. The quarter ended Nov. 30, 2010.

DPS is the second largest school district in the state of Colorado, with more than 13,000 teachers and employees serving nearly 80,000 students in more than 160 schools. The District’s 2010 Denver Plan aims to give every student a strong chance for success by retaining, rewarding, and recruiting the most qualified teachers and administrators, and through strategic management of financial resources. The new Lawson system will help improve district efficiency as administrators work toward tracking, measuring, and rewarding teacher effectiveness to ultimately help improve student outcomes in the district.

This project will bring together core Lawson talent management applications, including:

•Global Human Resources, which will help reduce the time, effort and expense district authorities need to spend on day-to-day HR administration tasks.
•Talent Acquisition, which will help the district better manage the recruitment, on-boarding and retention levels of teaching staff.
•Compensation Management which will help reward strong performers by linking compensation to individual benchmarks, organizational objectives, and performance.
•Performance Management, which will help track state and district assessment and school wide performance measures and set benchmarks or make comparisons with other teaching staff, showing progress over time.
