Nunhems, the Global Vegetable Seed Business of Bayer CropScience, Goes Live with Lawson M3 System in Europe

Following pilot in U.S., Lawson system to help integrate business processes and support Nunhems' global supply chain

ST. PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN - News) today announced that Nunhems, a global specialist in vegetable seeds, went live on the Lawson M3 Enterprise Management System. The Lawson M3 system is designed to help streamline how the company exchanges data throughout its international operations. It also helps Nunhems adapt its global processes in response to changing market conditions and optimize customer support. Timed with Nunhems’ seasonal business, the company completed its pilot implementation in the U.S. earlier this year. The company is now deploying the Lawson system across its operations in Europe, including The Netherlands, France, Spain and Italy. The Lawson M3 system currently supports more than 300 users across the U.S. and Europe.

Nunhems represents the vegetable seed business of Bayer CropScience and is among the world’s leading vegetable seed companies, with an extensive range of 28 species and some 2,500 varieties. With more than 1,300 employees, Nunhems is currently in virtually all major vegetable production areas in the world.

The Lawson M3 implementation is one of the largest IT projects in Nunhems’ history and will help support the company’s future growth. The main objective is to make the company’s key business processes more efficient, primarily in the areas of finance, marketing, sales, processing, production, logistics and quality assurance. Ultimately, this can help provide access to transparent and accurate centralized data, improve control of stock availability, enhance supply chain planning, and help synchronize business processes throughout the company’s global operations. In addition, the system can help support the company’s sales and services organization.
