Foundation Software Unveils New Module: The Executive Dashboard

Users can view and analyze key job cost and financial data… at-a-glance.

Foundation Software, producer of award-winning FOUNDATION® For Windows® construction accounting, project management and scheduling software, has announced the introduction of a comprehensive new reporting module, the Executive Dashboard. Featuring colorful charts and easy-to-read graphs, the Executive Dashboard allows users to quickly view and analyze high-level data and then effortlessly drill down into additional reports for more detailed information.

With the Executive Dashboard, FOUNDATION users will now be able to see – on one screen – a summary of their latest job cost, accounts payable, accounts receivable and other financial data. In addition to colorful bar graphs and pie charts, the dashboard also features a scrolling ticker that runs across the bottom of the screen and contains key aggregate data.

“As contractors come to rely on more and more information to help run their businesses, they can easily reach a point of information overload,” said Mike Ode, President of Foundation Software. “The Executive Dashboard helps them to view and understand their data in a way that could never be conveyed with traditional spreadsheets or on a printed report.”

Key to the Executive Dashboard’s reporting power, Ode said, is its drilldown capability. Clicking on any section of any chart or graph will bring the user to a more detailed level of reporting, where further drilldown is available still. Clicking on one particular job within the Job Cost Dashboard’s Estimated vs. Actual by Job bar graph, for example, allows the user to see the job’s summary report, which includes contract information and job-to-date data (e.g. costs, committed costs, billings, and gross margin). Clicking on “billings” will bring users to another level of detail – the status of each of the job’s invoice – where they can drill down even further to see the scanned invoice image.
