Tyler Technologies Wins Two Financial Management Solution Clients in Midwest

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL - News) announced today that it has signed agreements with the Village of Bensenville, Illinois, and the Minnesota Historical Society (St. Paul, Minnesota) to implement its MUNIS financial management solution. In total, the two contracts are worth nearly $1 million.

Both Bensenville and the Minnesota Historical Society (MHS) will implement applications from Tyler’s MUNIS financial and revenue product suites. Each client has invested in several integrated solutions, including Tyler GoDocs, Tyler Forms Processing, MUNIS Office, MUNIS Business Office and Tyler Content Manager for MUNIS. Both expect to enhance the overall approval process within their organizations using the MUNIS system’s electronic workflow.

The Village of Bensenville, which is located in DuPage County and has a population of approximately 20,700, has contracted for Tyler’s Application Service Provider (ASP) services. With this Software as a Service solution, Tyler will host and manage Bensenville’s MUNIS applications and data at Tyler’s secure facility. Additionally, Tyler will supply ongoing support, maintenance and upgrades for software, hardware and operating systems based on the ASP agreement.

Ed Bowser, network administrator for Bensenville, explained that Tyler’s ASP services best fit the needs of the Village. “I am the only staff member handling network issues. While I do my best to keep an eye on our critical systems, projects and workflow issues consume much of my time. With Tyler’s ASP solution in place, we feel confident that our most critical software solution—MUNIS—will receive its due diligence in maintenance, backups and upgrades. Having the Tyler team in our corner is of benefit to staff at all levels. Knowing I can concentrate on other projects to support staff and ultimately our constituents is a major plus in both the eyes of senior staff members and the Board,” he stated.

Bowser explained that the Village is looking forward to the integration that Tyler’s MUNIS solution offers. “The MUNIS solution will link all data across departments, creating an easy-to-use solution for Bensenville. In selecting a financial management solution, we looked for ease of use, public sector expertise and quality support. Tyler’s solution will deliver this,” he said.

The Minnesota Historical Society (MHS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of the state’s rich history. In addition to software licenses, the MHS contract includes associated professional services, maintenance and support. The MHS has also purchased Operating System/Database Administration services from Tyler. The MHS consists of 26 historic sites and museums across Minnesota.

Thomas Krolak, director of finance for the MHS, believes the Society will benefit from the integration and workflow features of Tyler’s MUNIS solution. “Tyler’s MUNIS system offers automated online approvals and routing for requisitions and budgets—features that are crucial to the Minnesota Historical Society’s overall operating efficiency. The solution also provides the enhanced electronic data features—attachments, downloads/uploads, program integration and data storage—that we require. We appreciate the enhanced reporting capabilities and the ability to track projects. Tyler’s solution will enable us to provide real-time financial information and reporting to 26 remote sites and all program areas,” he explained.

“Tyler is pleased to welcome the Village of Bensenville and the Minnesota Historical Society as our two newest clients in the Midwest. Our MUNIS financial management solution will provide them both with the ability to integrate information across all facets of their organization, improving their overall operations. Tyler looks forward to long-term partnerships with both Bensenville and the Minnesota Historical Society and anticipates continued growth in the Midwest region,” stated Richard Peterson, Jr., president of Tyler’s MUNIS Financial Management Solutions.
